What is Text Ads in Google Adwords?

In Google Adwords, we can show our ads in different form such as Text, Image, Video. Here we are going to have a look over Text Ads and its features and it work.

What is Text Ads?

The Ads which have no images, videos, banners is called Text Ads. Text Ad contains only text. In Google Search Engine Result Page, it shows top most and below most part of the page.

 

There are 3 parts in Text Ads:-

  • Headlines
  • Display URL
  • Description

Headlines

This is the most important part of any Text Ad. This is the part which users see very first. There are 2 Headlines for each ad. There are few things which you must consider while writing Headlines.

 

 

  • Must Contain Your Important Keyword
  • Write 30 characters for each Ads
  • Use dash “-” to separate the Headlines

Display URL

Display URL can be seen by users on Search Engine Result Page. This is the link part which is clickable. It lands your users to your page. You can keep it different from the  original one. So, you must always try to use the more relevant text in domain to get more click by the users.

For www.abc.com/page1/category/ppc/display-url the display url could be anyone of the following:

  • www.abc.com
  • abc.com
  • www.abc.com/best-offers
  • abc.com/free-consultant
  • www.abc.com/WeSellStuff
  • offer.abc.com

Display URLs are one of the best effective factor for increasing CTR and it ultimately affect the quality score and increase the quality score.

Description

Going with only short details is not more effective. With the help of Description, you can include more information about your products or services.  Be always to the point. Never try to put the unwanted or useless things. It is the good practice to include the Contact number and CTA words like Discount 25%, Free, Offer and more.

If you are new to the Digital Marketing and want to enhance your skill, you are at the right place. I am just trying to provide you the very important and specific points on the relevant subject.

If you want more visits, leads and revenue you should not only depend on Organic traffic. You should invest extra and go for paid ad (PPC). Here I’m not going to spend more time on Adwords and how it works. I would like to jump on How To Setup the Google Adwords Account in brief.

Here, I am going to give the tips over Google adwords which will help you to setup the first Google adwords account.

Steps To Create Your First Adwords Account

Visit to https://adwords.google.com/home/

Click on Start Now

Fill the Email Id and your Website

Click on Continue.

Create the First Campaign

Why a Campaign?

A campaign set of ad groups which share your ads targeting location, daily budget and other things. You need to tell about your services or products what you are offering at campaign level. We can also select  the bidding options here. It asks you that how you want to pay for each clicks- Automatically or manually. You will get different options at keywords level. An adwords account contains one or many ad campaigns.

Creating Campaign

 

Click on + sign, you will get following option, Now click on “New Campaign

 

Select the Campaign Type

 

 

You have to select the campaign type. All campaign types have their own importance. Here I would like to give you just overview on it.

There are 5 types of campaigns will be shown at this page.

Search Network:- If you run your ad here you are able to run your ads  only in text. It doesn’t include images.

Display Network – If you want to show your ads on websites, the Display Network is the best options to select. It chooses relevant websites which contain content related to your keywords.

Shopping:– Shopping ads are the best if you are a retailer and want to promote your online inventory and boost the traffic on your website. It shows the images of your products, title, price and store name.  

Video:- It let’s you run your video on Youtube and across the Google Display Network.

Universal App:- If you are having app then it is for your. You can promote your app here. This one is the best option for app advertiser.

Let’s suppose you select here Search Network, you will get the options to select the Goal, if you select the goal the adwords will show you some recommendation based on it. You can go ahead without selecting Goal too.

Campaign Setting

 

 

You need to fill the options asked here.

  • Write The Campaign Name
  • Select Location
  • Language
  • Bidding
  • Image
  • Budget
  • Start and End Dates
  • Sitelinks Extensions
  • Callout Extensions
  • Call Extensions

After providing these information, click on Save and Continue

Now you need to create Adgroup

After providing Keywords here just click on Save and Continue

Create The Ads

Here, You need to create ads which contains Title, Description and Display URL.

Fill the all information.

Final URL:- Put the landing page URL

Headline 1:- Write title in 30 Characters

Headline 2:- Again write the title in 30 Characters

Display URL Path:- Put here the words which may provide you more clicks

Description:- Describe your ads in 80 Characters

Now your campaign is almost ready. If have not added your billing method yet, the google will ask you to do so.

Once you have done with your billings, your ads will be live after approval of ads from Google.

At a Glance

  • A Campaigns contains one or more Adgroup.
  • An Adgroup contains one or more ads.
  • Find the most relevant keywords.
  • Do Keywords grouping and add them in respective groups.
  • Make sure to write the ads which should be most relevant to your website’s products or services.

Other Tips

Review your ads performance on daily basis
Link Google Adwords to Google Analytic to monitor your website traffic
Setup conversion tracking to monitor result ( sales, leads) from adwords.
